Early to bed and early to rise Shake out the cobwebs and sleep from your eyes Get your ass out of bed and get in line Get out into the world and scrape up a dime One thing I’ve learned since I’ve been alive A long life ain’t gonna be an easy ride You gotta get a job if you want income Cause the beer tastes better when the works all done Give it your all from nine to five You gotta give it some drive if you wanna survive That’s why it’s called work you know it ain't called fun Cause the beer tastes better when the works all done Cold cuts through the depths of December Darkness devours makes it hard to remember Change comes quick tell me are you ready For when summer comes in hot and heavy No way of getting out of this heat wave When it’s forty degrees celsius in the shade We burnt our backs in the blazing sun Cause the beer tastes better when the works all done Give it your all from eight to four You gotta get out the door before they give you some more That’s why it’s called work you know it ain't called fun Cause the beer tastes better when the works all done You gotta give it your all from seven to three You gotta roll up your sleeves until it's time to leave That’s why it’s called work you know it ain't called fun And it’s all worth it when the sweat starts to run You gotta give it your all from day to night You gotta put up a fight until you get it right That’s why it’s called work you know it ain't called fun Cause the beer tastes better when the works all done

End of the week, end of the road I've been on a losing streak, I've been feelin’ so low I need a release, I need it quick Coupla' sixers ought to do the trick Call up my brother Danny on the phone “Gonna round up the boys, gonna get it goin’" Head out to the bush for a bit of fun Coupla' sixers oughta' get ‘er done Cause when it hits your lips well I can guarantee Howlin' at that big ol' moon will set you free Shotgun bong and chugging wars Six full beers then six full more We won't stop until the drink is done Ricky boy’s looking like he’s all in Crackin’ a smile with his shit eatin' grin Pops another top, twelfth of the night Coupla' sixers and he's doin' alright I’ll drink a lager then I’ll drink an ale Forget about my love that went stale Lean on friends in tough times Coupla' sixers oughta' blow your mind Cause when it hits your lips well I can guarantee Howlin' at that big ol' moon will set you free Shotgun bong and chugging wars Six full beers then six full more We won't stop until the drink is done Well I'm feeling a bit ill Coupla sixers and I've had my fill Sometimes the world just feels too real Coupla sixers to help me heal Cause when I get that feeling you can’t stop me Howlin at that big ol' moon will set you free Shotgun bong and chugging wars Six full beers then six full more We won’t stop until the drink is done

I've got a six beer loneliness It's creepin' on stronger this time Well I don't know where my friends went They all left me Tired, drunk, and alone And I don’t know if I can shake These feelings so blue So I put em' in a bottle But I am consumed By my fear and greed My own inner enemies They flow through my brain And it drives me insane But these thoughts I can't tame I've got a six beer loneliness It's pullin' me further on down Well, I guess it's hard just to move on When you're on my mind All of the god damn time And I don't know if I can take These memories so true Cause when I drink to forget I only forget that we're through So I'll call you up late one night You'll feel better about yourself While I'll keep hating my life But my dear I'm not right I've got a six beer loneliness I wish I could share it with you

about

"Well, it was another Saturday at Dino's Bar & Grill. Work was all done for at least two days and I found myself bellied up to the bar, sippin' suds, watching the game on the tube. As the sun set over the avenue we slipped from sobriety to a slower state of mind. What did this night have in store for us? We wished Dino good luck with the Saturday night drunkards and strutted to the liquor store. Freshly armed with a coupla' sixers each, we rounded up a crew and headed to the bush for a bit of fun. No stranger to tying one on, the shotguns and beer chugs started something fierce. As I held the beer bong for its next victim, groovin' to Willie over the truck stereo, a sudden sadness came over me. Folks, sometimes you have the time and sometimes the time has you. This certain six beer loneliness had consumed my mind and altered my thoughts. Despite being surrounded by my best buds I could no longer find the strength to party. I caught a lift home, sat on the couch, and stared at a TV screen that wasn't even on. I thought to about how my life is just like the country songs I sing. Some happy, some sad, and some mad. Existence ain't all peaches and cream, sometimes the road gets a little rocky, but it sure is one hell of a ride." - Rick Visser
